ClickScrape
Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the ClickScrape browser extension (“ClickScrape”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use it. ClickScrape is a web scraping tool that runs in your browser. Our guiding principle is simple: the content you scrape belongs to you, it is processed on your own device, and we do not collect it.
1. What ClickScrape does
ClickScrape helps you extract structured data from web pages:
- You open a web page and visually select the fields you want to capture (for example a title, price, link, or image).
- The extension reads the content of that page in your browser, applies your selection, and builds a structured dataset (rows and columns) from it.
- You can export the results to formats such as Excel, CSV, and JSON. Exports are generated in your browser and saved to your computer through the normal browser download flow.
- Detail Enrichment is an optional feature you choose to run. When enabled, the extension follows the detail-page links contained in your results and visits those pages to collect additional fields you asked for. It only visits pages that are reachable from the data you already selected, and only when you start the process.
2. Information processed by the extension
Website content you choose to scrape
When you run a scraping task, ClickScrape processes the content of the page(s) you selected — the text, links, and attributes needed to produce the fields you chose. This processing happens entirely locally, inside your browser. The page content and the extracted results are not transmitted to ClickScrape’s servers and not sent to any third-party service. We never receive, see, or store the data you scrape.
This content is used for one purpose only: to carry out the scraping and export tasks that you start. It is not used for anything else.
Extension settings and results stored on your device
Your field selections, scraping configurations, in-progress results, and your license/activation status are stored locally in your browser’s extension storage so the extension can work between sessions. This data stays on your device. You can remove it at any time by clearing the extension’s data or uninstalling the extension.
3. Information handled when you buy ClickScrape Pro
ClickScrape Pro is a one-time $5.99 purchase that gives you lifetime unlimited access — there is no subscription and no recurring billing. See our Terms of Service and Refund Policy. The payment is processed by Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record for the transaction.
- Payment details. Your name, billing address, and payment card information are entered into and handled by Paddle’s checkout to take the one-time payment. ClickScrape does not receive or store your payment card details. Paddle processes this information under Paddle’s Privacy Policy.
- Purchase notification. After your payment completes, Paddle sends our backend a signature-verified notification (webhook). From it we store, in our license database: a license key we generate, the Paddle transaction identifier for the purchase, the Paddle customer identifier (when Paddle provides one), a status flag, and the date the record was created.
- Automatic activation identifier. So that your purchase can activate the extension it was started from without you having to copy a key, the extension generates a random, non-personal installation identifier and passes it through checkout. If present, we store it alongside your license record so the extension can retrieve its license after payment. This identifier is not linked to your identity and is not used for tracking.
We do not store your email address in our license database. If you contact support by email, we will use your email address only to respond to you.
4. Information handled when the extension checks your license
To confirm that ClickScrape Pro is unlocked, the extension contacts our license verification endpoint and sends either your license key or the non-personal installation identifier described above. The server responds only with whether an active license exists. We do not require or collect an account, a password, or a profile for this. Routine, short-lived server request logs (including IP address) may be generated by our hosting provider as part of normal operation and abuse prevention.
5. How we use information
- To deliver a license key for your purchase.
- To verify that your copy of ClickScrape Pro is activated.
- To provide customer support and handle refunds or payment questions (together with Paddle).
- To keep the service secure and to detect or prevent abuse.
6. What we do not do
- We do not sell your data, and we do not transfer your data to third parties except as needed to run the service (for example, our payment processor and infrastructure providers described below).
- We do not use or transfer your data for any purpose unrelated to ClickScrape’s core function of helping you scrape and export web data.
- We do not use or transfer your data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
- We do not use the content you scrape to build advertising profiles or to train models.
7. Data retention
- Scraped content and results: kept only on your device, for as long as you keep them. We hold no copy.
- License records: retained for the lifetime of your ClickScrape Pro license and as needed afterward for support, refunds, tax, and accounting obligations.
- Payment records: retained by Paddle according to Paddle’s policies and legal requirements.
8. Security
License data is stored with a reputable managed database provider and accessed over encrypted connections. Payment data is handled entirely by Paddle, a PCI-DSS compliant payment provider. Because the content you scrape never leaves your device through ClickScrape, it is not exposed to us or to our providers. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the limited data we hold.
9. Third-party services
We rely on a small number of providers to operate ClickScrape:
- Paddle — payment processing and Merchant of Record for purchases.
- Vercel — hosting for our website and license API.
- Upstash — managed database used to store license records.
These providers process data only to provide their services to us.
10. Your choices and rights
- You can delete the extension’s locally stored settings and results at any time, or uninstall the extension to remove them.
- You can ask us what license information we hold about your purchase, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (subject to legal retention requirements for financial records). Contact us using the details below.
- For payment data held by Paddle, you can exercise your rights directly with Paddle, or ask us and we will help coordinate.
11. Children
ClickScrape is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of majority in their jurisdiction.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be reflected in the extension’s store listing.
13. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or about your data, contact the ClickScrape team at alidemirtay67@gmail.com.
